As I lay down tonight
A heavy heart, with blight
Your face against the light
I know you’re not alright…
You tried to talk, kept mum
You chose to glare, be calm
Trying to fight the glum
And then I kissed, you hum…
I tried to make you feel
That I’m trying to heal
And it’s not a big deal
Accepting what is real…
A drop of tear, and sighs
Oh, I wish no more cries
but a smile in guise
Tomorrow the sun’ll rise!
It is during these times
We look at paradigms
Though they’re not thin dimes
Think of it in our primes…
And through moments like this
I pray for inmost peace,
And be with God abreast
All our cares He’ll release.
Hush now, let’s put to rest
All of life’s pain and test
Offer it to God’s crest
We will, we’ll be our best.
